THE ROYAL INSTITUTION OF
CHARTERED SURVEYORS
This well recognised and long established Institution now has about
60,000 members many of whom, past and present, have been the backbone of
estate agency for many years. It is common to find estate agents with at
least one partner, or senior member of staff, who is a registered
Chartered Surveyor. All Chartered Surveyors are qualified by
examination and experience and they may use the designatory letters FRICS
or ARICS.
Nearly half of all Chartered Surveyors value, sell and manage property of
all kinds and as estate agents they are a familiar presence in every high
street. As well as selling residential property, the Chartered Surveyor
will be appointed to carry out mortgage valuations and structural surveys.
