Click the main school building to start the King Edwards Visual School Tour |
|
There are several ways to navigate the King Edwards visual tour. Firstly the user may select items marked as hot spots in the panoramic moving images. In fact in the moving image above the school main building is one big hotspot which when clicked will start the tour. It would be normal to find that doors, pathways and buildings are hotspots but in fact anything can be a hotspot such as a window or any interesting object. You can find hotspots in one of two ways. 1. By moving your mouse over the image (particularly items such as doors and buildings) and when the mouse is over a hot spot a description appears indicating where the tour would lead if the hotspot is clicked. 2. By clicking in the panoramic image of interest (there can be more than one) and hitting the space-bar. This highlights all hotspots in the image so you can see where they are. You then simply use the mouse to explore the ones of interest. Be careful when clicking on the image of interest that you don't click a hot spot because if you do the image will change. The moving images can be stopped by clicking on the image. Once stopped you can move the image in either direction at any speed by clicking the mouse on the image and holding it down. Then simply moving the mouse moves the image. You will also notice that some navigation arrows and zoom controls appear at the bottom of the image when the mouse is over the image. These work well too, just click on the direction desired. Some images are accompanied by a diagram. This is map layout to provide a "you are here" position indicator. These diagrams can be an aerial views, a floor plan or simply a map of some sort. These diagrams are linked to the panoramic images to show position and view. They also support hotspots which are used to indicate your viewing position so you can see where the image is in relation to the map. Both the image and diagram hotspots operate in the same way. Simply placing your mouse over a hotspot will indicate where the hotspot will lead, however the diagram hotspots when clicked change the panoramic image not the diagram. The diagram remains static to act as a further navigation method to show the new "you are here" position. The 'lighthouse' effect shows the view and you may click anywhere on the diagram to immediately change the view angle Finally the user can simply follow the conventional Web links provided in the menus or drop-list boxes on each page. These are usually provided as shortcuts to make navigation easy and parent friendly. Click here to start The School Tour Click here for the King Edwards Website
