Surrey lies between the airports at London Heathrow to the north of the county and London Gatwick to the south.  There are other smaller airfields in the county as well so living in Surrey provides one of the most convenient locations for any air traveler.

Discussion on a possible 5th terminal for Heathrow is still being debated and Gatwick is ever increasing its capacity.  Long term have due regard for the amount of air traffic these airports must facilitate, after all they are the two busiest international airports in the world. They obviously ensure Surrey will remain unrivalled in one of the prime areas to live for handy international air travel.  They will continue to bring enormous benefits (and some related problems) to the area both directly and indirectly.

Some of the smaller rural villages close to Gatwick are subject to noise pollution.  In particular Charlwood is on Gatwick's doorstep and the Surrey Weald villages of Capel, Beare Green,  Ockley, Newdigate, Holmwood, Walliswood, Oakwoodhill and Ellens Green are also affected to a greater or lesser extent. Bear this in mind when considering homes and their prices in the area.  Remember the day you are viewing the property may not be the day of the loudest noise, flight paths vary and times of day may make a difference.

Other locations around the County also have aircraft regularly flying overhead, mostly the noise is acceptable (if heard at all) and not worthy of further mention, but make sure our general opinion is also your own....check it out!
