About Diu

Diu is a town in Diu district in the Union Territory of Daman and Diu, India. Diu district is the tenth least populated districts of India. So if someone wishes to have some peaceful and quiet time, then Diu is the perfect place to spend quality time.

This town is known for its fortress and Old Portuguese Cathedral. Visitors can enjoy fishing in this lovely town of course have some really great sea food. The climate of Diu district is extremely warm and humid with an average annual rainfall of 1500 mm. Visitors can also enjoy the beaches and water sports on this island. Streets of the town are clean and quiet. Another interesting fact Diu is that beer is free here. So if you get tired and heat get you hard, then you can enjoy a chilled beer and have a break from travelling. The siesta is very much observed here, with very little open in mid-afternoon.

Diu is more popular as a tourist place because of the natural beaches available very near to Diu like nagoa beach, Jalandhar beach, ghoghla beach and Diu diu area itself located on beach. This place is the perfect blend is evident in its architecture, with number of historical monuments and structures. People of Diu are very warm, friendly, and peaceful and show good hospitality. They are fun loving and enjoy all seasons with great zeal. Night life in Diu is quite enjoyable and safe.
